Mined by Apache tribal members of the San Carlos Indian Reservation from deposits in the Arizona desert, these are home-grown gems with a native spirit. We have a limited supply of these American Gems. An August birthstone, peridot can be found in outer space!

Peridot, also known as olivine, has been discovered in meteorites, on the moon, and on Mars. There have been peridot gems faceted from olivine in meteorites! Since it was mined in cowboy country and has been found on other planets, we're declaring peridot the "official" gemstone of the TV series Firefly. ;)
