Decorating the blog

Websites are sooooo yesterday.  In these days of web 2.0, every self-respecting marketer of anything has to have a blog! Which is…..wait for it…. a website.  With a little different layout.  Where one is encouraged to talk about oneself a lot.

So, despite the fact that I have a perfectly nice website, I decided it was imperative that yours truly have a shiny new blog as well.  To be quite honest, it’ll come in handy.  Me?  Talk about jewelry?  Sure, I’d love to.

The first thing you do when you set up a blog is to make it look nice.  Because, as roughly 985,000 websites are eager to inform you, your blog says who you are.  I discovered some interesting things in my search for the perfect theme.  Apparently, there are quite a few people who want to make the statement “I keep a brain in a jar on the top of my website,” or “I fantasize about cutting my wrists,” or even “Ohhhh, pirates!”  Well, pirates are kinda cool.  Especially when they are Jack Sparrow and Will Turner.

In the end, I went with a theme that said “Ohhh, those waves look cool!”  Very – um – not jewelryish.  But hey….jewelry is about looking cool, right?
