Gall bladder surgery and the evils of procrastination

I’m a procrastinator, and I’ve been known to get pretty down on myself because of it.  For instance, there are a number of very useful things I could be doing right now besides blogging.  Like adding some recently made jewelry pieces to my store, or catching up on email.  Or doing some important work on my websites.  Procrastination is GREATLY aided by the not-so-subtle influence of the narcotics the doctors just gave me for a wonky gall bladder….and that’s where my changed perspective of the day comes in.

On Saturday morning I had Very Serious Professionals inform me that my gall bladder must go.  This week.  Or I might Die.  They referred me to a surgeon whose receptionist came within a ferret’s whisker of snickering at the suggestion that they might actually be able to operate on me this week, and set me up with a delightfully convenient appointment to talk, yes, actually talk, to their own Very Serious Professional next MONTH!  If I don’t Die.

Now that is procrastination on a truly magnificent scale.  The sort of no-holds-barred procrastination we should all aspire to.  Anyways, I went to great pains to tell my customers I’d be out getting surgery this week, but it turns out I’ll be taking a blowtorch to precious metals instead, unless I’m writhing around in agony.  Both sound fun, really.

Do not be worried about surgery to remove your gall bladder, I had it done and so did my boyfriend and there is nothing to it.
That was 10 years ago and I had to have major surgery but I was only down for a few months, (you can still make jewelry).

I do not miss my gall bladder at all, and I sure don’t miss the pain of the attacks..go for it, you will be so much more comfortable.
