We received these remarkably weird stones as a consequence of trying (unsuccessfully) to replace a gorgeous batch of "Kryptonite" polycrystal gems. After a few dismayed, "but whyyyy?!" looks at what appeared to be wholesale quantities of gems only a goblin could love, it occurred to me that they are pretty much dead ringers for chardonnay grapes. But these are not your ordinary Wine Mom earrings. No, a Wine Mom would want these to sparkle, or stand out. Which they do not. They sulk in the corner, arms crossed, insisting this is Not A Phase and they will Never Sparkle because BEAUTY STANDARDS SUCK Mom. When they're in a happy mood (AKA the right lighting) they're a pretty shade of light yellow-green, like a delicious grape ripening in the sun. But when they aren't? Ohhhhh boy. I really hope you like the desaturated greenish yellow treasure of a goblin who keeps his hoard in the 70's oven of the local cottage witch. Because that's what you're getting. So come hither, all you goblincore wine moms with a goth streak. These are for you. (And for me.... shhhhh don't tell anyone the Fancy Jeweler is secretly an inebriated goblin.)

High-tech laboratory-created solid yellow-green polycrystal. Lab grown gems provide high-quality gems at a lower cost while avoiding conflict and other ethical issues that sometimes accompany mined stones. Lab created gems are not infinitely available in every possible color forever. And sometimes, colors change or stop being available - which is a good reason to collect these affordable gems when you see something you love for sale. Growers do go out of business or discontinue colors.

How to choose a stud earring size:

3mm is a tiny stud earring perfect for cartilage and multiple piercings. 4mm is a dainty stud earring that also works well for cartilage piercings. 5mm is a good minimalist everyday stud earring size. 6mm is large, but still casual. 8mm are statement stud earrings with a bold look. What to know about gemstone jewelry:

Gems (yes, even lab created gems!) are individual pieces of nature's art with minor variations in pattern, color, size, and shape. Gem sizes can vary +/- .2mm. Often, large gems are darker than small ones. I do promise you'll be happy with them, and accept exchanges as well as special requests like "Prefer darker green over lighter" which I will do my best to match within my stock. Some gems are fragile and should not go in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
